100% TESTING OF INGREDIENTS AND PRODUCTS

When you get a shipment from Natural Living by Design you can be certain that what’s on the label is what’s inside. the ingredients used have been 100%  test by the time it come into our facility. Then each formulation is tested again and finished product to ensure that it remains pure, potent, and stable. The scientists use more than a dozen different tests in our partners in-house micro lab to evaluate ingredients and products, including:

  • FTIR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy) – which helps identify compounds or chemicals.

  • GC (gas chromatography) – this measures potency and chemical spectrum, and is often used for testing essential oils.

  • HP-TLC (high performance thin layer chromatography) – this identifies the species and genus of a plant.

  • HPLC (High Pressure Liquid Chromatography) – this isolates chemical markers to measure the potency of a plant compound, mineral or vitamin.

  • ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry) – this quantifies the amount of heavy metal in a raw material or product.

  • Microscopy – this helps identify the genus and species of whole botanicals by looking at cell structure.

  • Macroscopy –this identifies the genus and species of a whole plant.

  • Microbiological testing – this shows the count of aerobic bacteria, yeast, mold, e-coli, staph, and salmonella in raw and finished goods.

  • Organoleptics – this uses color, taste and smell as quality markers in raw materials and finished goods.

  • Titration – it measures vitamin or mineral potency.

  • ​UV-VIS (ultraviolet visible spectroscopy) – it measures the amount of a specific compound in a plant.
